Inspired “The Tale of Jeremy Fisher” by Beatrix Potter, we learn the artistic techniques to sketch and paint Mr. Jeremy Fisher, the dandy frog who hopes to catch a few delicious minnows for dinner.
Follow along and learn to sketch in proportions starting with the frog. We will add details such as the fishing pole, the float, goloshes (a type of shoe), and a basket. The setting is a pond filled with cushiony lily pads.
After the pencil sketch, we outline with an ultra-fine point black permanent Sharpie. Use oil pastels to color your lilies and lily pads. Learn how to paint in layers by applying watercolors using the wet-on-wet technique.
We start with the frog. Then we will create the pond.
