In this tutorial, we will sketch and paint horses inspired by contemporary artist Laurel Burch.
The horses that she paints are mythical, magical and powerful.
Work in pencil to create a sketch with the correct proportions of the horses before adding details in oil pastels. Learn about the resist technique while adding a watercolor wash, wet on wet.
Optional: add finishing details with a white paint pen.

Materials used:
11 x 14 watercolor paper, pencil, eraser, black permanent fine point sharpie, oil pastels, watercolors, paint brushes (medium and large), water.
