This lesson is inspired by Laurel Burch’s cats. We will be looking at one of her artworks and making our own. Learn about line drawing, proportions, symmetry, cool and warm colors and contrasting colors.

We will color some areas using oil pastels and learn about blending. The larger areas will be painted using the wet-on-wet technique with watercolors.

Materials used:
9 x 12 watercolor or mix media paper, pencil, eraser, fine point and ultra-fine point black permanent sharpies, oil pastels, watercolors, paintbrushes and water.
