Cezanne-Inspired Still Life - Grades K-2
22m
In this lesson, you will learn to draw and paint a still life, inspired by the work of Paul Cezanne.
Learn about proportions and composition when you sketch your still life, using pencil.
Color it using oil pastels, layering and blending 2 to 3 colors and learn about shadows and highlights to convey a 3 D shape. Think about contrast when deciding which colors to paint your table and background, using the wet-on-wet technique in watercolors.
Materials used:
11 x 14 watercolor paper, Pencil, eraser, oil pastels, watercolors, large paintbrush, water, condiment cup (to help with fruit size: I use a 3” wide).
