In this tutorial, we will be inspired by the colorful and whimsical art of contemporary artist, Laurel Burch. We will draw these magical creatures, from left to right, starting with a cat, then a horse, a dog and another cat. Additional “friends” will be added: several fish and a bird.
We will add line details and patterns in sharpie and oil pastels, before painting in watercolors, using the wet-on-wet technique.

Materials used:
11 x 14 watercolor paper, pencil, eraser, fine point black permanent sharpie, oil pastels, watercolors, paintbrushes (medium and large) and water.
